Adding funds

Card top-ups to your balance, and buying USDC to your own wallet.

There are two completely separate ways to put money into Rivalizer. Pick based on what you want to do.

You want to… Use Where the money lands
Stake wagers / buy trophies inside the app Add funds (Card or USDC) → in-app balance Your Rivalizer in-app balance
Get USDC into your own crypto wallet on Base Buy USDC with a card (on-ramp) Your personal wallet on the Base network

These are different pools of money. Topping up your in-app balance does not put USDC in your wallet, and buying USDC to your wallet does not add to your in-app balance.

1. Add funds to your in-app balance (Card)

This credits the spendable balance you use for wagers and trophies.

Steps

  1. Go to Wallet → the In-app balance card.
  2. Enter a whole-dollar amount (minimum $1, maximum $1,000,000).
  3. Set the method dropdown to Card.
  4. Click Deposit.
  5. If identity verification is required, you'll be prompted (see KYC below). Complete it, then deposit again.
  6. You'll be sent to a hosted checkout to pay. Complete the payment there.
  7. When the payment settles, your in-app balance is credited automatically and you're returned to Rivalizer.

What's happening behind the scenes

  • Rivalizer creates a pending order and opens a PayRam hosted checkout (Rivalizer's self-hosted card→crypto payment gateway).
  • Your balance is only credited after the provider confirms the payment has settled — Rivalizer re-checks the payment status with the provider rather than trusting a notification blindly.
  • Crediting is exactly-once: even if a confirmation is delivered twice, you're credited a single time.

KYC (required for card deposits)

Card top-ups require a quick identity check the first time:

Field Requirement
Full legal name At least 2 characters
Date of birth Must be 18 or older
Country Must be a supported country (sanctioned/blocked countries are rejected)
Confirmations You must confirm you're an adult and eligible

This is a minimal, self-attested check. Once verified, you won't be asked again. If you try to deposit by card before verifying, you'll see a prompt to "Verify your identity to add funds by card."

Notes & limits

  • Amounts are whole dollars only.
  • If no payment processor is currently active, card deposits are unavailable and you'll see "Deposits are not available yet."

2. Buy USDC to your own wallet (on-ramp)

This is not in-app balance. It buys USDC on the Base network and sends it straight to your crypto wallet, using an outside regulated provider. Rivalizer doesn't charge, hold, or touch these funds — you buy directly from the provider.

Steps

  1. Go to Wallet → the Buy USDC with a card card.
  2. Enter an amount in dollars (defaults to $50).
  3. Click Buy ~$X USDC with [Provider] — this opens the provider's page in a new tab.
  4. Complete the purchase on the provider's site.

How the provider is chosen

Rivalizer picks a recommended provider based on your region (detected from your location, or your linked country), and lists others as alternatives:

Provider Behavior
Ramp (recommended) Opens a prefilled card→USDC-on-Base buy page. Your amount and wallet address are filled in if available.
Coinbase Opens a consumer buy page. Buy USDC, then withdraw to your wallet on the Base network.
Binance Same as Coinbase — buy USDC, then withdraw to Base.

Wallet address

  • If you've linked your wallet (or have one connected), your address is filled in automatically on the prefilled provider.
  • If not, you'll need to paste your wallet address on the provider's page. Tip: link your wallet so this is automatic.

How this differs from in-app tokens

In-app balance (Card "Add funds") Buy USDC (on-ramp)
Money lands in Your Rivalizer account Your personal Base wallet
Spendable on trophies / cash-leg wagers Yes No (it's on-chain USDC)
Who holds it Rivalizer You
Provider PayRam (Rivalizer's gateway) Ramp / Coinbase / Binance (third parties)
Identity check Rivalizer KYC required Handled by the third-party provider

What's live

  • Card deposits to in-app balance via PayRam — live (when the processor is configured).
  • On-ramp "Buy USDC" deep-links — live. Ramp, Coinbase, and Binance are wired up. (MoonPay / Transak / Banxa are intentionally excluded until a business entity is in place.)
